Users with the ArcView level of ArcGIS might find these tools useful. The one tool permits functionality that normally requires ArcSDE and other expensive applications to connect to a spatial database.

And if you do not use ArcMap you can use the tools with gvSIG a nice open source mapping application from Europe.
